Endangered Species International (ESI) has administrative cost extremely low and our impacts on the ground to save animals and wilderness are bigger than most charities (See below: animal charity comparison chart). Unlike ESI, most animal charities spend significant portion of their budget to maintain fundraising staff, large offices, and marketing campaigns, to provide financial benefits to board members, to buy and distribute “gifts” and the like. Endangered Species International uses only 2% for management, fundraising, and operations.

Train and hire locals to be employed by ESI to patrol critical areas in Africa to stop illegal and cruel hunting of protected animals like chimpanzees, elephants, and gorillas Empower traditional and indigenous societies and support local, community-based sustainable ecosystem management and conservation Create and expend protected areas (both marine and land) where it is urgently needed like the rainforest in the Congo Basin, Africa, the Bornean rainforest in southeast Asia, or the coral reefs of the Coral Triangle in Southeast Asia Sustain the protection of at least 240 endangered species and bring back them to healthy populations Remove incalculable amount of plastic debris from the ocean and educate more people each on the catastrophic plastic pollution, and support the ban of one-time plastic use around the world Inject an important amount of money and resources into the indigenous economy each month by protecting animals and their habitats

Together, we can continue our single most important strategy for protecting rainforest communities, which is to establish and effectively manage protected areas. ESI works to support global animal and habitat conservation efforts on many different fronts. We work with the government and private owners to establish and protect natural lands, like national parks and wildlife refuges. We help enforce legislations which protect endangered species while working with law enforcement to prosecute wildlife crimes, like wildlife trafficking and illegal hunting (poaching).
